ILR Granted - with Basic Confirmation letter

Post by hpgalliford » Sat Nov 19, 2011 1:51 am

Hi Guys

I have recently got my ILR on 10 years long residency. I just noticed the visa confirmation letter that comes back with the passport. It says;

Dear Sirs,
I am returning the passport(s) with an extension of stay in the United Kingdom.
Please ensure that you read the endorsement carefully.
For more information please see our website.

and with this page there was a 2 page leaflet attached to it.

The question is, one of my friend also got his ILR few months back and the confirmation letter he received had a lot of other information in the letter, for example telling him exactly the date when he can apply for a British passport etc

Is this something i need to contact Home office about or the letter is not much of a significance?

My Visa in the passport does say "indefinite leave to stay" Type = Settlement

Please guide me on this one

Thanks and Regards,

Faiz

The letter is just standard information that you can get from the UKBA website.

Are you sure that your residence permit says 'indefinite leave to stay' and not 'indefinite leave to remain'?

yes you are right it says "indefinite leave to remain in the UK"

So the letter is just the general format, and i shouldnt be worried why mine is a bit different :)

Thanks a Lot Greenie
