Absence from UK is per year is it calculated on Cal Year?

Post by Chikky » Sat Jan 07, 2012 6:52 pm

Hi,

When calculating absence from UK per year how is the calculation done?

Is it calender year from Jan to Dec

OR

Is it the year calculated From the month of Entry Clearance to the following year?

I mean I entered UK in June 2006 so my 5 year stay will be counted from June 2006 to June 2011. How will my absence in UK calculated will it be from June to Jenu every year ?

Thanks
Vids

Absence is not calculated as per the calendar year or on a 12 month basis.

1. In your case, your total days of absences during (date of application - 5 years) till date of application should be < 180 days

2. Each absence should not be > 90 days

Thanks that was useful. I read that Each absence should not be > 90 in a year. So thats why i got confused how do they calculate the start and end of the year to check if the stay was above 90 or not.

But i think your answer makes it clear that they only check two factors
1. < 180 days in 5 years
2. Not > 90 Each absence.

Thanks Again
