Chances of your schengen visa gettin rej for a single lady?

Post by cutegirl » Fri Jan 27, 2012 3:29 pm

Hi ,

I am an Indian and I wish to travel to Europe (France and Italy) as a tourist

I have heard that If you are a single person travelling (so is my case .. age 25 yrs) the probabilty of your schengen visa getting rejected is high. :(

I would be joined by few of my friends (from UK) in Europe for this holiday.
I would be applying to the French Consultate since I will be staying in France for more number of days.

Apart from the normal documents required for the schengen visa,I am also planning to attach the tickets and hotels bookings of my friends as well as a part of my visa application. We have done group hotel bookings .Will this help ?

I would be submitting a copy of the below documents

-Return flight tickets of me and my friends
- Confirmed hotel bookings of me and my friends
- Appointment letter and leave approval letter from my company
- 3 months salalry slips
- Bank Statements for last 6 months
- Covering letter from me and my parents
- Form 16 of last 3 yrs and investment proofs -
- Copies of my friends passports just as their ID proofs to go along with their flight and hotel bookings

Will submitting all these friends documents go against me ?
The consulate might feel that I have got people around me to sustain/support me in case if I m looking out for a job out there in Europe (which I am clearly not )

Or Should I just show my individual bookings stating that I am travelling alone ? ..But that again is a negative point :(

Also please advise if anything else can be done to make my case stronger and minimise the chances of my visa getting rejected .

Thanks for your help

I assume you are living in India. How long will you be visiting Europe?

Mostly I think they want to make sure that if they give you a visa, that you have ongoing ties back home that will return to your ongoing life.

I would suggest a letter from your employer saying something like "She works for me, is a good employee, and has a long future with us". If you own property, then maybe include a photocopy copy of the property deeds.
