visiting ireland without visa on tier 1 psw

visiting ireland without visa on tier 1 psw

someone told me that I can visit Ireland without Its visa if I hold tier 1 psw.
can someone confirm it please.

More over do I need visa to visit Switzerland as well

Such arrangement between Ireland and the UK for PSW visa holders doesn't exit. The Republic of Ireland, commonly known as Ireland is not Northern Ireland, and is a sovereign state. Hence, Ireland is not part of the UK.

The Irish Consular Office advises:
"You should not attempt to travel to Ireland from any part of Great Britain and Northern Ireland without a valid Irish visa." See link for more information: http://www.embassyofireland.co.uk/home/ ... x?id=49653

Yes! You need a visa to visit Switzerland. Your PSW visa is not a valid visa for travelling to Ireland and Switzerland.
