accomodation letter requirements

Post by ibzo » Tue Jan 31, 2012 6:17 pm

hello,

what are the requirements for the accommodation letter? I spoke to my housing manager and this is what they gave me back in the form of a letter.

dear sir/madam

(name of my father who is the tenant, and address of property)

I can confirm that the above named is a tenant at the above address. he has a secure tenancy and had been in occupation since 29.05.06. This property consists of four bedrooms with a permitted occupancy of 8.

The occupants we have registered living at the above address are:

(names and dob of all occupants, which are 7)

the weekly charges for the property are:

(weekly charges)

The property is managed by city west homes on behalf of westminster city council.

I trust the above is satisfactory

yours faithfully

housing manager

Now my issue is that she hasn't mentioned that she has no obligations to my wife staying over with us, which I thought was necessary. I had given her a copy of my wife's passport and requested she mentions that but she said this is sufficient and refused, and after insisting on her, she said she will speak to her manager and now has got back to me again saying no because this is not something they do.

so what do I do???[/img]

Any replies?
I need to know of this letter is sufficient, and if not, then what do I do?

Do you have a copy of the tenancy agreement?
Is there a section about allowing people to join the household? Include the agreement and highlight this.

No this letter is not sufficient for the purpose that you require it.

There has to be more information about the property, its room size, its occupants, its cooking and bathing facilities as well as its compliance with the Housing Act.

I do have a copy of the tenancy agreement, and it does say we can bring in more people. Do I have to bring the, original agreement or is a, photocopy ok?

Do I really need to include cooking/bathing facilities, etc? Someone told me their wife got a visa and all they had was a letter from the council saying the house is big enough, which is what I have

quite technical too, i used these guys: xxxxxxxx

and used xxxxxxxx
for the rest of the paperwork, both highly recommended

Thanks. It depends on the person reviewing the application. The letter i mentioned was accepted twice (first time the application was rejected on other grounds) when we applied in jordan. We also included the tenancy agreement.
