Validity of COS

HI,

My Tier 1 Visa is about to expire in a little over a week and just as I was about to submit my TIER 2 (General) Application Form I realised my (unrestricted) COS is not 'Valid'.

According to the UKBA's Tier 2 General Policy Guidance Notes:

'You must apply within three months from the date your Certificate of Sponsorship was issued. You must also apply no more than three months before the start date on your Certificate of Sponsorship. If this is not possible, you should contact your sponsor.'

My COS was issued to the Company I work for in October. Hence it has now passed the three month mark and hence would be deemed invalid.

I guess the most obvious thing to do in this situation would be to reapply for a COS and have it reassigned to me. The only catch with that is that my current visa is going to end in 10 days. Will that be enough time to receive a new COS?

Alternatively is there any way to apply for an extension of a COS in anyway?
