hello,
Just passed my Life in the UK test along with my wife...phewwwwwwww...
Booked slots for the appointment at Hounslaw as there is none in Scotland and it will be easier for me as company pays for my flight to the london office and do it as part when i am out there.
Questions:
1. Anybody have any eperience in the above mentioned NCS?
2. I came to country in 1996 as student and after completion mf my studies in 2001 i got work permit staright away. As per section 3.1 of AN2 from which one should i put as my date of entry 1996 or 2001( went home holiday before joining work...workpermit was getting approved in the meantime...stamped passport in UK only)? The following section asks for details of absence in the last five years should i include the abve mentioned holiday as well although it was more than five years as it was july 2001 and i am applying in september 2006 so i guess it will be starting from august 2001 that i need to put all that dates in.
3. Since me and my wife both passed the test do we still need to take our graduation certificate. My wife did a grduation course in humanities in India and a correspondeance coure of graduation in hospitality management. both in English medium and there was graduation level in English literature. I have Meng degree from Uk itself. If not our test results and passpost and application are the only thing that we need to carry to the NCS i guess?
4. How many days after the approval letter from Home Office we have to attend the creremony . I am still trying to find out if they do any such things in Aberdeen or not? If not it will be London again.....
I will put post all my dates and experience later on....

It is "naturalisation".... :)

As question 3.1 asks for "Date and place of first arrival in the United Kingdom", it seems to me that 1996 is the date you put there - they'll only start counting from five years ago, but there's no reason not to tell the truth.

As 3.2 asks for "details of all absences from the United Kingdom during the last five years", and July 2001 falls outside that period, it need not be listed.

The test certificates will suffice.

Section 1.19 says "If your application is approved, you will need to take part in a citizenship ceremony. The venue will normally be within a local authority area near where you live. If you want to have your ceremony in another area you should give us details of the local authority location below..." I doubt that there is a reasonable-sized town in the UK where it is not possible to arrange a ceremony. I believe it has to take place within 89 days.

I think the intended word was neuterlisation. As far as I know, the Home Office don't do this.
