HSMP extension from 4th year to 5th year under current rules

Post by ran » Tue Aug 22, 2006 12:36 pm

Hi,

I was successful in my HSMP application in May'2004. Suprisingly at the first instance itself I was given a 4 years visa instead of the usual 1 year! I had enquired with IAS immigration advisors and they had said it was quite ok as sometimes HO gave 4 years visa at a go.

But with current regulations I have to extend the visa from 4th to 5th year. Initially I was working as a research assistant at the edinburgh university computer science department (2004 - 2006). But the issue is that since May I have made a change in my career from IT to mental health sector. Although I think I may be able to manage to get a letter from my employer that my work is IT related in the company I am currently working.

My question is whether this will hamper my visa extension as I recently came across the issue of designated profession in this forum. Mine originally was IT as far as I remember.
Also what documents do I require as supporting evidence?

I would be most grateful if anyone can advice me on this issue.

Best Regards,
Ran

You just need to be economically active!
