He had arrived on what I think was a J-1 Visa; he is now on an F-1 Visa and studying very hard at a university here in the city. He is a New York State attorney, but is continuing his education in a master's degree in order to become more employable. So far things haven't gone very well in the way of job offers. I'm very lucky that he is able to be here right now on account of his studies, otherwise he might have had to leave this country already. If things don't really improve, and he isn't able to secure work, he will surely have to leave. It's rather sad that in the USA, I'm not able to sponsor him to stay or anything like that - though, I don't think I really make the income to support another person, let alone me! Hahaha

Things have been so uncertain lately. It can all be so scary and confusing. Speaking with my friends does help, but I don't think they will every really understand as they are not in my position. I came across this board on my man's recommendation a while back, and I must say that it has really opened my eyes. It's so refreshing to hear about other real people in circumstances like my own - some for the better, and sadly some for the worse. I'm glad to share that whenever I have a heaviness in my chest, that I can come here are read other's stories, lives, and experiences. I'm happy to not feel alone in my thoughts and words, and uplifted to see all of the great successes that have come from here - it's for me, so life changing.
This is my first post, and I'm sure there will be more. I'd like to try and be more active, and not just scroll through and merely read. I may even be needing my own advice soon, depending on where life takes us!
So, a Hello and Thank You to everyone for all of the kindness you have brought to others, and the inspiration you have given to me.
I hope that all are well, and those in need of guidance will find their way.
I also hope that his has been posted in the correct location, as it would be a little embarrassing, although understanding, to have it relocated.
