Bank Draft

Post by sheraz_aries » Tue Feb 14, 2012 11:33 pm

I need to pay £1500 as fee for Main and Dependent application.
Thinking to pay via bank draft to avoid any possibility of getting transaction field by bank but got confused on the details asked on the payment page and would be great if somebody could help on this.

On selecting "bank draft" from the payment option, the payment page still ask for the bank account details like account number, sort code etc,

Was wondering why we need that and would they be entering these details some where to get the payments and can cause any possible decline by bank on basis on security checks?
Many Thanks

Bank drafts are probably the most reliable way to pay for postal applications. You need to put the sort code, account number and cheque number from the draft and not you own account number and sort code as people often assume.

They don't enter the details to get the payments. The draft is banked just like a cheque is. I believe they ask for the details for administrative purposes when entering details of the payment on the system or possibly in case the payment becomes detached from the application. I have never known a problem with payment by bank draft.
