Help regarding Section N of the new application form

Post by narender28 » Thu Feb 16, 2012 10:23 am

Hi,
Could someone please clarify my doubt regarding section N (English Language) of the New application form(starting from 14/02/2012)

I have completed M.Sc from a UK University and I know that I met the English language requirement.

But, I am finding difficulty in completing N8

N 8. Tick to show how you verified your degree was taught in English:

The self assessment tool shows the qualification is equivalent to a degree but does not show the qualification was taught in English. This option cannot be ticked if you are applying under and Tier 2 (Minister of Religion). Go to question N8

The self assessment tool does not show the qualification is equivalent to a degree or was not taught in English but a UK NARIC letter and/or certificate is enclosed. This option cannot be ticked if you are applying under and Tier 2 (Minister of Religion). Go to question N8

Which one should I opt for

Thanks in advance,
NG

Go here,

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/pointscalculator

Under -> English language

Check option #2: I have a UK Bachelor degree-equivalent qualification (or above) that was taught in English

Select the country of award and see if you qualification and university is found here. If yes then you are eligible to claim the points.

Thanks for the reply madona.
I did go through the points calculator and I qualify.

But, the option in the form says:

The self assessment tool shows the qualification is equivalent to a degree but does not show the qualification was taught in English. This option cannot be ticked if you are applying under and Tier 2 (Minister of Religion). Go to question N8

confused with that, because the tool does show that the degree was taught in english. Please throw some light into it.
Thanks,
NG

Hi mate,

Take a look, once you put your university, year of award, etc the system will show you whether you will score points for this degree.

Look below,

If you did your Masters in English then you should fine.

Hope this helps
