Advice- driving conviction

Post by Sara89 » Sun Feb 19, 2012 3:16 pm

Urgent advice needed. Had 6 points and £600 fine from magistrate's court in June 2007 for speeding (SP30 offense code). Am eligible to apply for citizenship now. Another 4 months and the conviction will be spent. Should I wait or should I take the risk and apply now? Can anybody who has been successful with driving conviction communicate their experience? Any advise welcome.

Hi Sara89, If I were you I will wait another 4 months when the conviction might have been spent. That way you are guaranteed an unmistakable BC approval.

Don't make the mistake if you read through all the board's postings you would have discovered that HO will not approve an applicant with a driving offences conviction that has not been spent.

Speeding offences are classified as criminal, therefore HO takes it seriously when considering BC applications.

I will advice that you just be patient and BCship is yours!

You should definately wait until ur conviction is spent...
6 points + magistrate court = no chance
