tier 2 general visa

hi,

i am working for company as General Electrician. my psw visa expries in jan 2013. my company is small company with less number of employees. i am thinking to ask my director for sponsor visa.
my graduation is electrical engg(india) , post graduation in network computing(uk) and i am working as general electrician full time 40 hrs

i want know can my company sponsor me because my degree from uk university is different and my job is different ?

do i need to job in same field as my degree ?
