ILR Application after 2 years spousal visa

Post by Kestane » Mon Feb 27, 2012 4:19 am

Hello,

First of all thank you for creating this wonderfull forum to help people with their immigration needs and providing them with clear information rather than gibberish.

I currently hold a 2 year spousal visa. Unfortunately since I didn't know about there being a limit for time we were allowed out of the UK during this time I did quite a bit of personal travelling with and without my wife. The total number of days that I was out of the U.K is 189 days. The longest I've been out at a single journey is 104 days (had a not-so-serious operation and got treatment for the following 3 moths- have a doctors line to prove it, if neccessary) and 53 days out of 189, my wife was with me while abroad.

My question is, under these circumstances, am I qualified to apply for ILR. If so how should I go about it? Would I be better of applying through post rather than premium? What sort of documentation might I need along with the standart proof of co-habitation and finances?

And If I do not qualify, can I extend my spousal visa? or what are my options?

Any kind of guidance and help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you all.
