Successful ILR received today in the post ... My Journey

Post by annitacar » Mon Feb 27, 2012 10:52 am

:D yeaaayyyy so happy. We have waited so long for the whole process to be over and it's finally here ....... I just want to share my journey....
(I am from south america Argentina and my wife is a British citizen born and raised)

1. Got married in Argentina (2009), applied for entry clearance. applied in June received entry clearance in august.

2. Came to the UK ( September 2009) after saying good by to my family and friends.

3. We stayed together for 2 years still happy. I found a Job as soon as I got back and have been working the entire time. Not a high paying job but it was enough to pay the bills and got out every now and then.

4. 2 years came very quickly . Applied for ILR in November 2011.

5. Made an appointment at Islington council to do the checking service, payed the fee about £70 I think.....

6. Appointment booked for Nov 1st. Excellent service at Islington. Streamlined our paper work down to a few pages. Very helpful gentleman. He said he would endorse the paper work and send it off special delivery. He said we should wait about 3 months. we thanked him and left.

7. Nov 7th received a letter from the home office stating that they had received our payment and documents and the application is being processed.

8. payment taken from the bank on the Nov 4th.

9. The long wait ... Christmas nothing, January came and went...... I was almost starting to forget and then ... the doorbell rings a packet ... I sign ...white envelope but not paper, a type of material ...... all of my names fully written on the front ..... I breathe deeply.. excited and nervous.....

10. Roooaaaarrrhhhh yeeeeahhh ... I've opened it... all the panic and worry melt away and i'm free... yeah it came it was the ILR . Thank you UK .

11. I walk off into the sunset with my lovely lovely wife and live happily ever after.

( If you want to know a bit more details about the kind of paper work we sent off message me and I will try and help . thank you)
