Naturalisation and Registration, clarification needed.

Post by tbbcuk » Tue Feb 28, 2012 12:33 am

For Naturalisation, BC for spouse can be applied under 3 years residency requirement.

For Registration, can BC for spouse also be applied under 3 years residency requirement? I couldn't find the answer on UKBA website, all it says is 5 years but didn't mention about spouse.

My future wife from Hong Kong hold British National (Overseas) passport.

There is no provision for a shorter residence period for BC spouse for registration of BNO.

Thank you for your reply Jambo.

Apart from BNO, she also holds a HKSAR Chinese Passport.

Do you think it is wiser to use a Chinese Passport to apply spouse visa rather than BNO? So that she can apply after 3 years under naturalisation instead of registration??

Silly question, can you use BNO to go for the naturalisation route hence to cut that extra 2 years???
