shared accomodation acceptable ?

Post by krssubbu » Wed Feb 29, 2012 3:18 pm

Hi,

I am on ILR. inorder for me to process my wife's and new born baby settlement spouse visa (ilr dependant), i need to show accomodation proof. I live in a shared accomodation and i pay rent to my friends (whose name is on contract). I dont pay anything else such as council tax or bills. My friends name are in the tenancy agreement and i can get no objection letter from them and from landlord, overcrowding is not an issue as its 5 bedroom house and only 4 people including me.

my question has anyone obtained spouse visa (ilr dependant ) with shared accmodation ? if what proof do i need to show?

please help me as i am very very confused

Thanks

it is not a must but personally I would suggest that it would be better for your application if you were actually on the tenancy agreement.

no not really, we have seperate accounts and we both lived together for 1.5 years (we are married - she was on my dependant visa for 1.5 years and then left to india for maternity). i have proof for we were living together in my previous address - such as council tax bills, electricity bills
