Statement help for Settlement Visa

Post by Thinking » Sat Mar 03, 2012 10:36 pm

Please help me making the statement I have to enclose with the VAF4A form while applying for my Brother who is in Pakistan and suffering from Schizophrenia which is a brain disorder.

My brother was living with my Mother and was completely dependent on her but Unfortunately now that she has passed away, he is all alone and needs my support.

I have read about the policies and now prepraing to collect all the relevant documents but I don't know how to make the statement in which I will give the explanation to the Visa Officer about my being the only one who can take care of my brother. Since there is only one sister living in Pakistan who is married and have no job so far.

Do anyone have a kind of example of the STATEMENTS or the EXPLANATIONS so that I can take the example from them?

Regards - Saira.

You will be applying for a dependant visa for your brother. Read the link below

Dear BatleyKhan...thank you so much for giving me time.

I go through the UKBA website and found here: http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... dependent/ that I have to apply through VAF4A form for my brother since he is in Pakistan and I am with him so that I can do all the paper work for him.

Please advise what form should I fill for his case.

And also please advise how to start and what should be the wordings for my Statement.

Regards - Thinking.

Sorry the link that I sent you was the guidance notes used by entry clearance officers when they look at such applications.

Yes the form VAF4A is the one that you should use for your brothers application. You will need to provide the documents in your link including the SU07 form.

The statement/supporting letter will need to include the full circumstances and illness of your brother with medical reports. You will need to give a detailed circumstances of your brother, his needs, support and why and how you can offer that to him here in UK without recourse to public funds.

You will need to show how you have supported in past and will do so in future. You will have to detail your own personal circumstances, your family, accommodation and financial details .

Yo will also have to show that he has no one in Pakistan to look after him and that he is entirely dependant on you.

Its going to be tough going to get him here and I wish you good luck.
