Hi All,
Can you please let me know if i would hva eany issues with the following;
To make my application simple, i decided to use my current account for both proving my earnings and maintenance (i.e. providing 12 months worth of statements for both). As the guidelines specifically state, the maintenance should only be proven for the 90 consecutive days prior (period Mid-November 2011 to Mid February 2012) to the application (more more than one month old), which has been covered.
However, right at the start of the 12 months worth of statements, which relates to earnings there are five days that the account wasn't over £800 (way back in February 2011). Will this come into consideration even though it is outside of the specified maintenance period or should i submit bank details from another account as at the time i was using a separate account for savings/let them know about this but state it is outside what i am being asked for?
If you have specific evidence or knowledge, it would be much appreciated.
Wilko

You can use one account and that makes things simpler. You only need to prove the maintenance amount for the last 90 days, don't worry about the shortfall in Feb 2011 as that is irrelevant.

same account for earnings & maintenance is fine but also get a letter from the bank saying the balance has remained at minimum £xxx or more for the last 3 months so the CW doesnt havta go through the long list of transactions to check if balance fell below.
make the CW's life easy & they will certainly return the favour

saying this is easier but i am not sure if every bank provides such letter. I have HSBC bank account and I called them to get such letter, which they politely refused saying that all we can provide is your bank statement.

With all due respect and understanding your suggestion will only make things easier, I think we all pay enough for that CW to glance his eyes over the statement to verify what he needs to.
Reason for my comment is to make sure OP does not feel it is mandatory or feel let down if he/she does not manage to get one from the bank. I have similar situation, I am not going to get the letter from the bank.

another reason for me to hate hsbc's & barclays', smaller banks will do pretty much anything you ask for

Not favouring HSBC, but I got the minimum balance certificate from HSBC.
Just dropped an message using internet banking, detailed the requirements as-is from the UKBA website and they sent the letter to me.
They mentioned the time period which I requested and dispatched the letter next day from my said period.

Mate, no disrespect but it wouldnt matter even if you paid 2 grand for extension. CW wont think how much you paid as most people manage to get a letter from the bank confirming the funds & they are habituated to look at the letter than go through the long list of transactions.

I agree with your comments but as I wrote, idea was not to downplay your suggestions nor was to insult any intelligence. My comment was more to spread the humour and to make sure no one should go over the board to get the kind of letter UKBA asks for, if the bank refuses (as you mentioned HSBC & Barclays being least helpful) to give so.
