Passport Validity & ILR

Post by Bajwagr8 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 4:03 pm

Hi

I am going to apply for ILR in May. My current passport will expire in Feb 2014. That means I will have valid visa on my current passport but my passport will expire in Feb 2014. So, I would need a new passport.

That is not a problem, right??? Because, in Feb 2014; I will have valid visa on one passport but that passport will be expired.

Any thoughts, please?

Thanks,
Salman.

you are applying for ILR and if successful will be issued with a BRP which is a separate card, it is not issued in your passport.

Even if they were still giving ILR on passport, you could still carry an expired passport (which had ILR on it) with a new passport for as long as you wished.
