UKBA verification checks - Overseas Qualification

Post by Jayrulez » Tue Mar 06, 2012 11:24 am

Hi Forum Members

I would be very grateful if someone could advise my case. I submitted my application on 13 December 2011, given biometrics on the 13 January 2012 and waiting since then for a decision to be made on my application. On 13 February I was requested to supply further evidence on my application and was asked to send my qualification certification i.e. my bachelors degree which I sent the very next day. It's the 8th weeks since I attended my biometric and it doesn't seem to go anywhere. I received a letter from the UKBA stating my application is going through extended checks.

Does anyone know what the process is for carrying out extended checks by UKBA and how long does it likely to take for them to complete the chekcs?

I have tried to contact my university but haven't had any response from them. They might not reply to UKBA (if they are verifying my degree) to confirm the degree certificate. Where do I stand if the university doesn't confirm these documents?

Can I send someone to the University and push them to issue a letter to the UKBA? Is there anyway to find out how does UKBA verify the degree certificates for overseas colleges and university?

It would be very helpful if someone could help me finding the answers for the above questions.

Regards
Jay
