Tier 1 extension

Post by ngemini » Wed Mar 07, 2012 2:04 pm

Hi,
My Tier 1 extension is due in Jan 2013, but I am short of total earnings to get adequate points for extension. My current salary is less so I am trying to change my job however I might still not get 50-55k pounds since my current is only 36k. I need help with 3 questions:
1. If I get a job of lesser salary, can I expect my company to give me any kind of salary advance just to meet the amount short for my visa extension? If I get salary advance will that mount be eligible for total earnings calculation for visa extension?
2. Is there any other kind of benefits or bonus amounts which can be included in the total earnings?
Is there any other alternative? I am seeking expert advise to help me get my visa extended.
Many Thanks,

The only way is getting the salary and claiming the points. Better search for a job that pays above 55K.

I am not sure if your company would pay you 3-6 months salary in advance, if they do even then that would be salary for a period beyond 12 months. You can only claim for points with 12 months salary. If you claim that 18 months salary was for a period of 12 months only, then you are faking it and might even get a rejection if UKBA understands this.

If you get a bonus from your company, you can include that in your earnings. I believe you are not eligible to claim any benefits hence benefits are not applicable in your case.

You can also choose to work part time along with your current job. That would give you the added advantage of extra income. Many people do that.

I am not sure of any other alternatives as there might be cases where people fake their salaries for extension but I am not aware of the details.
