Tier 1 PBS Dependant Appointment

Post by rknshree » Wed Mar 07, 2012 10:21 pm

Hi All,

I just realized there is a category 'Tier 1 PBS Dependent', when you try to book an appointment at the UKBA site
I am not sure if this was available before as well
This clearly means that it is possible to book an appointment for dependants separately as well
Any one, any ideas ?

I don't understand your post. You seem to be saying that you have noticed something that you previously were not aware or had overlooked, but then you leave it at that. So what is your actual question?

Applications for settlement or extension of stay
Public enquiry offices accept applications for permission to extend your stay (known as 'limited leave to remain') or to settle permanently (known as 'indefinite leave to remain') in the UK, in the categories below.

This option is for the dependants who are applying separately through PEO appointment after the main applicant.

There is nothing to indicate this. Furthermore, if you read the application from you can see that you pay 850 at the PEO but are entitled to a discount if the PBS migrant is applying at the same time. There would be no need to mention this if applications were not accepted independant of the PBS migrant.

The applicable fees
For an application made on this form, the fee is £550 for applications made by post or courier, or £850 for applications made in person at
our Public Enquiry Offices (PEO), unless the dependant is applying for leave to remain at the same time as the main applicant, when
a reduced fee is payable. reduced rate for Eligible Dependants

For this application to be considered at a reduced rate:
• the dependant must be the spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner, or child under 18 of the main applicant.
• the dependant’s application must be made at the same time as the main applicant’s application

When applying at the same time with the main applicant, I don't see a point in using this option, unless you wanted to pay UKBA an additional £150.

I was thinking if it was possible for the biometric appointments even if applied at the same time with the main applicant.
Sorry for any confusion
