Tier 1 Visa Extension

I was issued the Tier 1 visa which is Valid from 06/08/2010 and it is my understanding after having recently reread through the visa information that this should have been issued for 2 years (As application was made 18/04/2010), however my visa has been issued for 3 years until the 06/08/2013. Or will they reject my extension in 2013 and make me leave the UK?

Do I carry on and renew my visa this year in August or in August 2013?
Any help will be great

renew as normal, you wud be given a 2 year extension, doesnt really matter much if it was 3yrs initially or 2. UKBA cannot really ask why you did not report the "error"
