Indian Passport - multiple applications

Post by internetstatic » Thu Mar 08, 2012 2:02 pm

Greetings All,

I am looking for some advice on India passport re-issue at HCI London. Would appreciate all your help...

----
The Facts
-----

- I am currently in London w/ dependants on a T2 ICT which expires on 15-05-2012.
- My passport expires in June 2013 (It has my old property address)
- My spouse's passport expires on 13-05-2012 (has the maternal address)
- My daughter was born here and is 2 months old

I just realised that my passport lists my old property address.

--
The Question(s)
--

1. What address will be listed on my daughter's passport?
2. Can I submit a change in address on my passport and expect it to be resissued with a further 10 year validity?
3. Can I submit all 3 applications at once, so that the address change reflects in all 3 passports?
4. Do you think it is realistic that I will receive the passports back in a month, if 3 is True?

phew... that's it for now. thanks in advance for all your help.

1. What address will be listed on my daughter's passport?
Whatever address you want. You have to provide address proof for that. Easiest would be a UK address and I say this for you, your wife and child. However if you want an Indian address, you will have to get a certified address proof. For example a Indian/NRI bank statement certified by the bank branch manager with your (or your wife as the case may be) name and complete address on it.

2. Can I submit a change in address on my passport and expect it to be resissued with a further 10 year validity?
Yes
3. Can I submit all 3 applications at once, so that the address change reflects in all 3 passports?
Yes. But there will be three different application sets with their own supporting documents.
4. Do you think it is realistic that I will receive the passports back in a month, if 3 is True?
If applications are complete and accepted by the HCI, then Yes you should receive the passports within 1 month of application.

Thank you for your prompt reply; I had read in one of the threads here that you can only update your UK address if you have ILR or similar status. I am currently on T2 ICT, since 2009.

Is this a recent change?

Yes you are correct. If you are on T2 ICT then you have to give your India address (along with address proof). The same would be applicable for all 3 - you, your wife and child. I would suggest (because I think this is the easiest option) you open bank account(s) (if not done already) for all 3 in India on the address you want to appear on the passport. Then get bank statements; have them attested by the bank manager/officer and submit that as address proof.

Thank you for your suggestion.

I currently have a utility bill (electricity) which I just printed off the Reliance website. I think that should do, since the HCIL website does mention utility bills. (My colleague recently got his address changed on the basis of a utility bill).

Does anyone know if I can submit all the 3 applications myself or do my wife and daughter have to be present at the HCI?
