Dependent extension outside UK

Hello All,

My Wife is planning to go to India for delivery. I got Tier1 general visa with my wife as dependent and Visa expires in June 2012. I'm planning to apply for Tier1 general extension (for me alone now ). Can I wife apply for extension from India or does she need to apply for fresh entry clearance?

I wanted to apply before she leaves UK but there is not much time left now as I already got air tickets booked for her to leave in mid of May 2012. From the processing times given on UKBA website it looks to me that its taking 2 months for each application to get completed. Which is quite risky in my case. Also am unable to find any PEO dates online. It always says no dates available.

Please advise.
