Procedure of repaying benefit

Hi All,

Not sure if I post at the right place. I need some advice. Thanks in advance.

I am to apply ILR in two months. However, I have once applied for working tax credit in 2007, and received it for two months. I stopped it immediately when I realized it was a mistake. However, attempting to repay the money is extremely difficult.

I have sent request (with passport photocopies) for a few times but all were unsuccessful. The latest request was sent at the beginning of Feb, 2012. When I called the help line to ask for progress, they always say no update.

So if anyone has experience on successfully repaying working tax credit, please give some advice.
