application for brittish nationality for my 2 daughters

Post by sid1000 » Fri Mar 09, 2012 1:02 pm

Its been more than 5 months now since the application for brittish citizenship for my daughters (born in Pakistan) was submitted. 3 months into the period the Brittish high commission in Pakistan requested medical certificates for the girls and my old & new passport- which were provided. I have now been contacted by them requesting an interview in Pakistan. I am currently working and unable to travel back to Pakistan to attend this interview. I have requested them to make arrangements for me to be assessed in the UK which they have declined and advised that their is no alternative. Is their anyway I can persuade the Brittish Pakistani high commision to make an exception in my case. I am brittish by birth and by reading through the threads on this board feel as if I am being treated unfairly.

Please advise

When were your daughters born?
Were you born in the UK?
Are you their father or mother?
Are you married to the children's other parent?

Are the children just applying for British passports?

Do you mean just consular birth registrations and British passports?

If you (parent) was British otherwise than by descent when your children were born, then your children are automatically British (2(1)(a)).

The applications should be straight forward, provided that you had submitted the required documents. I don't understand why they should need to interview you?
