Your income is sufficient to meet the maintenance requirements due to your low outgoings, however you said you are not claiming any public funds. Why isn't your husband claiming child benefit, and why aren't the two of you making a joint claim for tax credits?

£500 per month for rent council tax and bills for a couple with a child is low - your income is relatively low but because your rent is also low this means you meet the maintenance requirement.

Your husband is British and is therefore entitled to claim any benefits to which he is entitled without this effecting your application. He should be claiming child benefit and you can also make a joint claim for tax credits - this will significantly boost your income. You are entitled to this money as a family and should be claiming it.
