FLR (M) Souse Visa: Help with completing application form

Post by rwatanabe » Sun Mar 11, 2012 7:50 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to complete the application form for FLR (M) Spouse Visa and there is one section am not clear about, if anyone can help I would appreciate it! :)

It is the first question of Section 7 where it asks:
"Did you get entry clearance as a spouse, civil partner, unmarried or same-sex partner, fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner before entering the UK?"

I am currently on PSW visa (which expires July this year), and I got married to a British citizen September 2011, while on PSW.

My question here is, Do I answer 'Yes' as I am already married ( the questions in this section look like they are aiming at those who are planning to get marrid).

Or Do I still answer 'No' as I got my last visa as PSW (which I understand considered as entry clearance)??

I would be really grateful if anyone on here can help me with this!

Thank you

:D

I am just guessing here, but I think your PSW visa for only for that. If you intended to get married you should have applied for a fiance visa from the county you originate from after completing the 2 years PSW visa. Then you would have the visa to come back to the UK and get married. I am not sure you are allowed to just marry without advising UKBA. I would contact your solicitor to assist you before it's too late. You may find you have to return home and then apply as the spouse to return.

The answer to the question would be "No".

It's possible for a PSW holder to switch to FLR(M).

I did advise the UKBA when we got married, I had to apply for the COA, which I had to provide to the local council.
Thanks vinny, for the straight answer :)
