Error on Tier 2 General "valid until" date!!!

Post by barabashka » Sun Mar 11, 2012 10:01 pm

Dear friends,

I have got my Tier 2 General visa, and am supposed to travel to UK on March 30. However, there is an error that I have found now on the visa - it is valid from 25/03/12 to 24/04/12 (instead of being valid for 3 years, like my COS).

I have applied from Canada and entry clearance was processed in NY Consulate in USA.
Does anyone know contact emails to contact British Consulate in NY urgently in such case? I can not find this contact information on their website...

Thanks!

Phone and fax numbers are given on the British Consulate NY website, email address is not. See:

Thank you manci,

I eventually sent an email via Worldbridge website:
https://www.visainfoservices.com/pages/SendAnEmail.aspx

They in turn have sent request to Consulate, and I got an email from a visa officer that confirmed the error. I was given instructions where and to whom I should send my passport back.
Today I have got the passport with the corrected visa. All the process took 5 days (delivery from Vancouver, Canada to NY + correction of the visa + delivery from NY to Vancouver).

Pleased to hear that the error has been corrected in time for your travel.
Not a bad turnaround for getting your passport back.
Good luck with your trip and job in the UK.
