Biometric email before the letter

I have applied on 09 Feb 2012 and waiting for my Biometric letter.

I was wondering if people who have given their email address in the application have received any emails before getting the letter?

like is it a "standard" practice to first send an email and then send the letter.

any thoughts? experiences?

some people have only got email & most have only got the letter even after filling in the email address in application. very rarely people have got both email & letter but things may have changed now

ok so basically, i should not keep close watch on my email account .. (as i am doing now) to expect email first ...

what you need is the barcode letter to give bio at PO which is only sent through post
