We only book an appointment on the UKBA site, right? And nothing else.

There seems to be something about submitting forms online as well. But it looks like that is not for Tier 1 extn.

You can book an appointment on UKBA website and over the phone as well. However, little bit of research would tell you that the appointments gets published on website at midnight for upto 6 weeks in advance. However they all disappear in a matter of seconds !!!
Yes, you can not use online forms for T1 Extension
An [Expensive] Immigrant journey has ended 19/08/2015. Good luck to you all out there...
