need foreign passport to apply for 1st british passport?

Post by kingcedz » Thu Mar 15, 2012 10:01 pm

Hi, to apply for the 1st british passport, will i need to send in current valid passport issued by foreign country?

on DirectGov it states:
If you were born outside the UK and have a certificate of naturalisation or registration, IPS needs:
your naturalisation or registration certificate
the passport on which you entered the UK

The passport i used to enter UK is an old passport, and i have since then renewed my passport twice.

Will I need to send in my current passport? or the old passport is sufficient?

Thanks

Hiya

I spoke to the Passport office helpline, they said that you must send your current passport. If you entered the UK on a different passport that is now expired you must send that also.
