Increased funds required for Tier 1 applications from 14 Jun

Post by jhansi_82 » Fri Mar 16, 2012 11:57 am

Hi All,

Just checked ukbia site and it states,

On 15 March 2012, a written ministerial statement was laid in Parliament outlining a number of changes to the Immigration Rules.

From 14 June 2012, the personal savings you must have to support your application will increase. We have clarified the length of time you must hold the funds before you make your application.

They stated 900 pounds for the main applicant for maintaing but didnt say anything for the length of time need to be maintained.

Anybody knows anything about the lengh of time we need to maintain

Thanks
Jhansi

So for anyone with a projected appointment date of 15 Jun 2012, surely they'll have missed the window for increasing their balance to the new minimum level unless they did so within a day of the announcement (how many T1G visa holders are even aware of this announcement)?

This is assuming they keep the duration over which to maintain the minimum balance as 90 days (couldn't find if they have announced anything around this).

Doesn't sound reasonable at all, and people will get hit hard, especially if they remain unaware of this change, which is quite likely as most people due to apply mid-June onwards won't even act until early May (PEO appointment) or mid May (postal application) at the earliest.

MODERATORS PLEASE CONSIDER MAKING THIS A STICKY TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THIS CHANGE
