Maintenance Requirement as per new Rules

Post by umeruzair » Fri Mar 16, 2012 2:27 pm

Hi,

As per the new "Statement of Chnages Rule HC1888" has published on 15th March 2012 (http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... iew=Binary)

On Page 77 & 78 they stated that the maintenance fund should be increase from £800 to £900 (for main applicant) and from £533 to £600 (for each dependant).

Can anyone confirm that is it the mandatory requirement for Settelment (ILR) on the basis of Tier 1 (General) and also if you have more than one dependant but you are only applying for one dependent (husband/wife not child born in UK) then you have to show the total of £2100 or £1500 from last 3 months?

I would be grateful if some senior member can please respond to the above.

You don't need maintenance fund for ILR or settlement. This is an Entry Clearance or extension requirement.
The question is... to be or not to be....

Hi

There's no such rule mentioned any where to the best of my research and study for the ILR which is called maintenance fund. That's not required at all for ILR.

Thanks zahid.ali.anwar and smam for your replies,

but as far as i know you need to meet the same points which you met at Tier 1 time therefore you have to show the maintenance funds.

Please confirm

Hi umeruzair

To the best of my knowledge I've never ever heard of it and never ever come across any thing called the maintenance funds for ILR applicants no matter which visa you're on regardless Tier 1, Tier 2 or a WP. Even if you're applying with your dependants there's no requirements at all. I can confirm you that.

For your more satisfaction I would highly advice you umeruzair just have a thorough read through of the rules it'll help you a lot as we all share our knowledge here after getting it from a reliable source.

One more thing that umeruzair if you come accross any such rule so called maintenance funds requirement for ILR applicants please do share with us on the forum that would be great help for every forum users.

Good luck for your ILR.

zahid.ali.anwar

Thanks for your response and the guidance document which clarify my understanding. This means that we do not need to provide the evidence for "English Language" and "Maintenance" as provided apart of Tier 1 (General) application. My understanding was one has to score the full points as he/she scored at the time of first Tier 1 application.

Thanks again
