solicitor certification validity?

Post by krssubbu » Sun Mar 18, 2012 4:54 pm

Hi,

I beleive on reading this forum, passport certification is needed. I already had got my passport certified by a solicitor last month. I am planning to apply end of month. So is the solicitor signature valid till then (about 50 days?) or do i need recertification which might cost me

Thanks

thanks again- will photocopies be accepted for my child application (As it costs a bit to get certified)

second questions is that - I was filling out the online application form (vaf4a form) - on visa4uk.fco.gov.uk website.

here it askes for

purpose of application:

- returning settlement
- settlement

if i select settlment, it askes for:

Husband
Wife
Marriage
Unmarried Patner
Proposed Civil Paternership
Child and other Dependant of Settleed Person
Parent, Grandparent and other dependant relative
Former UK ARmed forces

(my wife lived with me in the UK on tier 1 dependant visa and returned back to India) - does she has to select settlement or returning resident ?

if settlement, then does she has to chaoose wife or Marriage ? (what catergory wil my child fit it - is it Child or depdendant of Settlemt PErson)

Thanks

On what basis are you calling your wife over,ie as a spouse of a British citizen or as an dependant of some one here on a work permit etc?

What is your current status in UK?

Yes, as long as the originals are with the mothers passport

Thanks again batleykhan...just a doubt, woudlnt it be Marriage visa instead of wife - i am confused so clearing it up

2. while filling up the form (on behlaf of my wife), it askes who supports you - spouse/family/fatehr/mother - i havent sent any money to my spouse for support as she lives with her fatehr and mother and they support her - does this mean she has to attach proof saying her father and mother are supporting her ? any bank statements requeired from her father and mother ?

Thanks

She is applying for a settlement as the spouse (wife) of someone already settled in the UK. You are already married so its not a marriage visa

2. while filling up the form (on behalf of my wife), it asks who supports you - spouse/family/father/mother - i haven't sent any money to my spouse for support as she lives with her father and mother and they support her - does this mean she has to attach proof saying her father and mother are supporting her ? any bank statements required from her father and mother ?

Just put down, she is supported by her parents as she is still living with them. ( she does not have to provide any evidence).

However it would have helped your case if you started supporting your wife as she is now your responsibility not her parents. The husband should send money to their wives at that is good evidence if a genuine marriage and of your support of your wife. If you haven't applied then it might be a good idea if you send money in your wives name via official means and provide evidence of it( receipts etc)with application.

Thanks

No its not to late. If you are going to pay her visa fees etc and are going to send her the money for this, just provide the receipt as proof. This will show you are taking responsibility for your own family. If you cant prove this or pay for this then what are the chances of you being able to support your wife and kid if and when they come here?.

Obviously if you are not going to pay this and expect her or father to pay it all well then you should be grateful your inlaws.

You are probably tensed because you have not thought carefully about how you intend to do proceed with this smatter.
These matters are complicated and expensive and you have to think carefully and take your time preparing the correct documents and evidence to show that when your wife applies, she meets all the criteria to successfully obtain the visa.

Don't bother with this, the ECO does not want evidence as to how your wife is supported by her father.

Actually i mother was willing to sponser for the fee for my wife and child...

also i have sent money earlier but again this was to my mothers account - i have the online receipts and this is refelected on my bank account statements that i am going to submit - will this be enough as proof ? (however the mone ywould have gone in to my mothers account)

And can i send you to checklist i have collected so far to your personal email address - just another pair of eyes to check - just tensed about this
