Evidence of lawful residence

Post by mercmullis » Sun Mar 18, 2012 10:32 pm

Hi

I have filled in all of information required for naturalisation, thank God for that. I am now preparing the supporting documents for my application, and I have a question realting to EVIDENCE OF LAWFUL RESIDENCE. would you please advise me on this?

Home Office requires the evidence of lawful residence during the 5 or 3 years (if applicants is married to a British citizen) as follows: -

* your passoorts OR
* letter from employers, educational establishments or other Government Departments indicating presence in UK

I am confused about that, how could it possible that my passport can prove where I live?

Can i send utility bills for past 3 years to prove where i live?

Please help, thanks :?

So you are not convinced by what the form clearly asked for (as you stated) and you want to provide evidence the HO is not asking for?

Would you also offer to pay more for the application as the current fee is not sufficient :-) ?

The evidence required is not to show where you lived. For that the HO can find by themselves if they wish. It is to show you have been in the country to meet the requirements and for that the passport is enough.
