Switching into Tier 2 - confusion

Post by rubyni » Mon Mar 19, 2012 2:26 am

Hi there,

I am currently on PSW and my partner is on Tier 4. I will be applying for Tier 2 and my partner will be applying under tier 2 dependant. I was told that he (tier 4) can't switch into dependant category in UK. Is that right?

In that case, I was planning to apply from my home country, and was informed that i will be on COS restricted, which it might be a bit risky to do.

Is it safe for me to apply for Tier 1 in UK and my partner to apply from home country or is it better for both of us to apply together from home country?

Thank you in advance.

Apply for Tier2 from in country. This gets you off some of the restrictions such as limited number of COS, RLMT, Maintenance etc.. It's best you switch to TIER2 from PSW in country.

Get your partner to go back and apply for Tier2 dependant.

This is the best thing to do :)
In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on :)
