Pls Help(DLR)

Post by franco1 70 » Mon Mar 19, 2012 9:03 pm

Hello Guys, I really need your help and advice. I came to the U.K as a student in 2001,went to school and extended my visas until 2005 when I lost my dad and went through a period of depression so couldn't go to school. Some friends and relatives adviced that I contact a solicitor to help me apply for DLR,then get full recovery before I start school again. When I met the solicitor I had about 8wks left on my visa.He collected my passport and other documents for the application as well as 50% of his fees and the HO fees. Afterwards he only communicated with me by phone for about 3 times and that was it. I tried to reach him but his phone was always off and his office was closed,so in my despression I called the HO to find out about my DLR application but was told there was no such application in my name.I couldn't go to the police b'cos I realised my situation when my visa had expired. In 2007 I found out on the internet that the man has been jailed for similar offenses. Pls I need your advice. Oct. 2012 will be my 11th yr in U.K.

There are no provision in the immigration rules for 11 years residence, there is a 14 years rule which you will qualify under in 3 years time, provided it is still in place by then.

You can make a Human right application, but i am not sure about your chances.

Probably best to consult an immigration adviser specialises in Human Right cases
