Tier 1 Dependent Visa Queries

Post by sandeepk » Tue Mar 20, 2012 9:50 am

Hello guys,

i need help and guidance about the following queries i have about the Dependent Visa for my wife.

i am on Tier1 Visa recently renewed in Feb and would be getting married in March end so will have to apply a dependent visa for my wife in Delhi in april.

Here are the questions i have :

1. Is Tenancy agreement a requirement ? Please advise.

2. Can she use a account of hers for the Maintenance funds ?

3. How much funds she will have to show ? Is it only for her or she has to show funds for me as well ?

4. Is there any other requirement like English Test etc for the Dependent.

5. How much time does it usually take ?

any other valid point which i might be missing, please dont mind to suggest

thanks a lot in advance

1 - Not mandatory but if you have one, do provide
2 -Yes, you can use hers, or yours or even combined for maintenance funds
3 - You/her need to show £800 (changing from 6th April to £900 I think) + £533 (Not sure if this is changing as well, double check) - All assuming you are in the UK for more than 12 months.
4 - No
5 - No one knows exact time scale (but as Quicksam has indicated below 1 - 6 weeks :) ) !!!

Good luck

I guess this one is for LUCAPOOKA.

What I did is, I never worried about maintenance crap. I had always maintained an amount in excess of 5000 (can't tell you the exact figure  ) and never had any issues.

According to what I have heard from the MODS the maintenance amount for dependant is 533 at this point.

@ Sahi - You have been already advised extensively on THIS THREAD with regards to what maintenance funds you require. The thing you failed to mention was when you are intending to apply for the visa. In case if you are applying after 6th or April, you need £900+£600£600 if prior to that £800+£533+£533.

Thanks,
R

Thanks
i know that its 533 now and 600 will be in june.
My question is do i need to show funds for myself and my wife as well, we both got the visa, or just to show funds for my child who was born in uk.
Thanks

Here is further evidence in black and white for you to refer to -

Page 10, Bullet Pt 46, "they must provide evidence that they have an additional £533 in available funds."
