Family visitor with T2-ICT application pending with UKBA

Post by prasad.edlabadkar » Tue Mar 20, 2012 8:43 pm

Hi,

I want to invite my in-laws to UK on 19th April and want them to apply for family visitor VISA. However, my passport is currently with UKBA for extension processing and looking at timings on UKBA site, I am expecting to get the VISA by first week of April. I have all the other documents for sponsoring their trip. Question is, can they apply for family visitor VISA without my VISA copy?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks
Prasad

Yes, it's not mandatory to provide this and applications can be approved without it. Simply write a letter explaining the situation and perhaps send a few bills with your UK address. Their application approval will be approved or refused on their financial soundness and ties to homeland rather than you being their daughter's spouse (but where is your wife and if she is in the UK she can provide her passport). The only difference and advantage of applying in the family category is that is carries a right of appeal; otherwise it's the same a general visit visa.

As an aside, I would always suggest that people keep a copy of their visa vignette in case of loss. And having those number makes it very easy to look-up in the PROVISO database.
