Visa for my wife from Pakistan

Post by Ravi333 » Wed Mar 21, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi All. I am new to this forum and its a great place to seek advise on immigration matters. I have a question if you could answer it please.

I am from Pakistan and working as an Electrocal Engineer in Dublin. Got my Green card about six months ago. I got married last month in Pakistan and want to apply for my wife visa from Pakistan. Could you tell me please what do i need to do ? What application form do i need to fill out and what supporting documents do i require to support her visa application.

Thanks in advance
Ahmed

you need following docs:
1. Colour copy of your Passport (photo page)
2. Colour copy of your GNIB card
3. Copy of your Irish visa on your passport
4. Bank Statement in Original for last 6 months
5. Letter from your employer confirming your Job and Payslips of last 6 months
6. Marriage Certificate and Certified English Translation if not in English
7. Your Wife's Passport confirming you as her husband
8. Copy of NADRA Certificate regarding your marriage and living sa family (Not sure about it but heard of it !!!)
9. Visa Application form (I think you can find it online)
10. Letter written by you to the Dept. of Justice confirming her as your wife and you sponsoring her visa (spouse visa)

I think if your wife applies with attaching all above documents in Pakistan, she should get it..
Best of Luck

Thanks very much for the reply.

In the point 8 you mentioned " living sa family " what does it mean ? In pakistan couple don't live together before marriage and i would be going to pak only on 3 weeks holidays, how could i prove that we were livinig togthere. I mean we don't have any proof address like bills etc.

Secondly, Do i have to attest my NADRA marriage certificate from the department of foreign affairs Islamabad ?

Next, could you send me the link to the application form please.

Thanks very much for your help.
Ahmed

hiya guys! I am also in Ravi's situation too.
Ravi I hurd that to prove you guys have spent time together.. such things as pictures of days out, wedding pictures and things like that could be helpfull

I would like to get my hubby over and southdubliner thank you for the info its really helpful.

1. I was wondering if maybe you also know exactly how much i need to be earning?

2. I work a permanent part-time job at the moment so will that be enough as long as I have enough money sitting in my account? or shall i get a full time job? Bearing in mind that i was working partime for the company i currently work for for nearly a year but i had to give up the job to go and live in Pak with my husband for roughly 2months and then when i came back they offered me my job back. Will this work history help with my case. If i used my old payslips to prove my good working history with the company will it be relevant?

I would be really great full for your help as I really don't know who to talk to and i've been told solicitors cost alot of money jus to give advise!

thanks you x [/list]

The process of getting spouse visa is simple and straightforward.
I think I've already put the list of all the relevant documents in my earlier post.
As far as point 8 is concerned, that baffled me too but thats exactly what they asked from one of my friends and his reply was the same as Ravi's, that we simply do not spend time together before marriage and Dept of Justice accepted that reply.
There is no set amount of money required or mentioned in any application form but rule of thumb is that you should have enough money in your account to sustain both of you for at least 6 months in Ireland.
You need pay slips of last 3 months to prove that you are in employment (I m not sure about full time or part time will make any difference)
You really do not need solicitor for application or appeal in case of rejection. They rejected visit visa of my mother once and I had a lengthy telephonic conversation with visa office in Dublin and they issued visa on the same day so no need to be afraid of them.
But, make sure every thing they ask for should be given and all the supporting evidence is genuine and authentic.
Best of Luck
