applying british citizenship

I am about applying for british citizenship as i hold an ILR but i have received a Notice of fine and collection order, because I travelled on railway without paying the correct fare (I used child fare) and I plead guilty. Therefore the Magistrates Court sent me this Notice of Fine. Will this potential sentence be termed as a criminal conviction, will i have to mention it on my application and if yes how will it affect my application, or I wait for 5 or 1 year. Please any advice will be appreciated.
