extension visa on different progress not according to CAS

my friend came to uk for english course. His course was PTE ( Pearson Test of English ). one month before course completion his college was suspended. He appeared in TOEFL rather than PTE and Got B2 level.
will toefl be ok for progress when applying for extension.

It depends on the level of his next course.

Did he came on Tier 4 visa on English course? i.e.PTE

Plus if college was suspended why he move from PTE to TOEFL? What is the connection between college license status and PTE/TOEFL?

I think, it will be ok, if he will move on further with some Foundation course or advance English course.
