lost the previous passport with Tier 4 visa

Post by ssyy418 » Fri Mar 23, 2012 12:55 pm

Hi everyone,

I've just came across this website and this is brilliant! Thank you!!

Ok. Here are my questions:

1. Unfortunately, I cannot find the previous "original passport containing the relevant grant(s) of leave in the UK for the period during which the applicant studied and/or conducted research for his/her eligible qualification in the UK". I have a new passport now.

Btw, I am currently doing MSc and I want to apply PSW with my BA.

I am 100% sure where I lost it but once my bag was stolen in Jan 2012 and I think it was in the bag. I realised later (after reporting to the police) but the passport was expired one so I didn't go back and made another report for it..!

Is there a way to prove that I had a valid visa?? I know they have a database but I just cannot provide my previous passport now..

2. My BA was a double degree one between the UK and Germany. I spent 3 terms in Germany and 3 terms in the UK. I, of course, have the graduate certification from the UK uni.

According to the PSW guideline, if a person did not study "solely" abroad, this person can apply. But is the PSW letter issued by my UK uni enough??

3. What do you think after 6 April would happen? Because if I apply PSW now, I will get just one year extra, since my current visa for MSc expires Jan 2013. And the application is 600 Pounds!!
Do you think it will be extremely difficult to get a job here, who would sponsor me to get Tier 2 visa??

Thanks everyone!

Well provide a copy of the police report to substantiate your calim of stolen passport

Why do you need a letter from the University, havent you graduated yet, if you hvae just submity the transcripts alongwith the degree certificate

Nobody can answer that question, its not what we think look at the stats with upto a Million people unemployed its not rocket science to figure out that it wont be easy to find a job in UK and that too with a sponsor willing to sponsor you when clearly there are graduates who are unemployed
Thanks everyone!
