What the purpose of her travel? A visit or settlement?

If settlement, then Child settlement visa.

If your child is British, then why not apply for a British passport?

The thing is i have send her passport application form to British High Comission new delhi on 16th march but they send it back yesterday saying missing family photos where as i have send the photos with the form but there were only two of them . And they want progressing pictures of child with family and relatives and also one at the time of child's birth with both parents. Unfortunately we don't have one at the time of child's birth because she have to be rushed to the hospital as she was a little weak and also we have only a few photos with her that is also its either with me or my husband but not toghether . So can i send whatever i have with the application form again ???
This is my problem can anyone tell me what should i do in this situation. Thats the reason i was asking for this visa thing in my previous post .

Thanks & Regards

Ask Her Majesty’s High Commissioner to India, HE James Bevan CMG to clarify why they are asking for family photographs, a non-statutory requirement?

What's required is proof that child is yours and child is British; child's photographs.

Provide all the photographs you have with child + parents, child + guardian and also provide a letter explaining the situation. Put child's medical records including dispatch papers and red book.

Worst come worst instead of passport they will provide you (or you might have to make a saperate application) with emergency travel document on which child can travel to UK.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply . But i didn't get any receipt for the application form i have submitted and i was wondering how much time will it take for them to send me a receipt for the complete application . And as far as the timeline for passport it is mention on the fco.gov.uk website that at the maximum its takes 12 weeks if one is applying for the first time . Can you please clarify this for me as well.

Thanks & Regards

Don't know when they will send a receipt. As soon as payment is collected, I suspect.

Maybe they changed it on 3rd April?

Google cache from 3rd April.

Although the courier increased fees seem to have been there for quite a while:

Snapshot as of 7 Dec 2011

Moreover say if the fees is not correct will they sent bck the application?? If yes , than how much time will they take to sent it back. I am asking this because as i am on ILR and i am out of country since 1st jan 2011 and it will almost 1 and half a year now and if i stay more than probably my ILR will expire. Can u please suggest what should i do .

I don't know if it is possible to request a specific date of the cache.

Why won't you just call the BHC? Or careline?
