ILR for parent of dependent of main applicant

Post by KKumar » Sat Mar 24, 2012 11:28 pm

Hi,

I am main applicant and I, my wife and my son got ILR in Jan 2012. Now my wife's mother is widow and lives in and national of her home country. There is now no one to look after her there. We wish if she can join us as my dependent on ILR. Can she apply as my dependent on ILR? I am going to sponsor her (look after her maintenance in UK) as my wife do not work.

If she can be considered my dependent and I can make an application for her ILR, what documents I will need to provide?

Thank you,

vinny

sorry for late update. I have followed the link and i can see some drastic changes made in July 2012 for family migration. I read the document but to be honest, i could not get answer or understanding of new process for "how to apply dependent visa + settlement visa for my wife's mother"

Hi,
I am reading the document available at this document http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... am-mig.pdf

Note: As I have mentioned in start of this topic, i have intention to apply family migration visa for my mother in law. she is 60 years old.

I would like to have better understanding of these below bold statments available on page 29 in above linked document.

1. Evidence that, as a result of age, illness or disability, the applicant requires long-term personal care, that is help performing everyday tasks, e.g. washing, dressing and cooking:
-- does it mean that applicant can only apply if she is ill and require long-term personal care? I would like more information about term long-term personal care.

2. Evidence that the applicant, even with the practical and financial help of the sponsor in the UK, is unable to make arrangements for the required level of care to be provided to the applicant in the country where they are living:
-- does it mean applicant must meet criteria 1(above) and unable to make arrangements for the required level of care to be provided to the applicant in the country where they are living ?

-- practical and financial help of the sponsor in the UK If sponsor prove that can not do same in India, and can do same in UK conflicts the sponsor stand according to me. please correct me.

Evidence of adequate maintenance, accommodation and care in the UK:

-- more detail about word "care in the uk". does it mean that applicant can not receive day to day basic NHS Services in UK as normal resident?
