What are the odds?

Post by garfield123 » Sun Mar 25, 2012 6:24 am

So I'm thinking of my PSW application. I graduated in December 2011 with my MA and am back to my home country now. I have my degree with me however, I believe I lose out on the maintenance of funds bit. If I do make my application with my father's bank funds and a birth certificate and stating that these funds can be used by me, what are the chances my application will be accepted?
I can make my application or or before 5th April, just wondering if I should take the risk with those 600 pounds of application fees.
Student visas are processed based on parent's funds and I know PSW doesn't but sometimes they overlook. Maybe if I hand in a cover letter explaining my situation?

Well, if you strongly feel this to be worth a shot.. then take it. Knowing this to be the last sort of visa that is about to be taken away... the ukba may grant some sort of leniency.

It is a gamble and there is no real way to go in confidently.. but hey ho !

yeah it is a gamble. I'm just thinking it might or might not work out, you know. my friend suggested I consider the 600 pounds of application fees as a donation to the jobless in uk, lol. I'll sleep over this tonight.

Hate to say this but there is a strong chance that the application will be refused as the HO clearly state the applicants name should be on the bank statements or proof of funds, failing which the application would be refused.
This is not a gamble exactly...

ummm I know it would be really rare to get the acceptance but worth a shot?
maybe if I include a cover letter explaining why the funds aren't in my name. I wonder.

You can give it a shot but I would read the following first, there are high chances of a refusal as you do NOT satisfy criteria and a covering letter will NOT help

Perhaps you could go add your name onto your oldmans account, a joint account could present a much stronger case. This is one avenue you may explore, but time is crucial factor. I suggest u rather do this over tha
