Tier 1 General Application - Renewal Section D Queries

Hello,

My first visa to UK was on Business Visa issued on 31 May 2007. The visa was valid till 30 November 2007. (I travelled on 03 June, 2007).

However, I went back by 19 August, 2007 applied for a Work Permit through my company.

The Work Permit was issued on 29 August 2008 at Chennai, India. (I travelled back again on 08 September 2007 on Work Permit).

On 29 March, 2009 I applied for my Tier 1 visa from London, UK and got it. It was issued on 09 May 2009 and it is valid till 09 May 2012.

Now, as I am applying for my renewal, I am a bit confused on Section D of the application form.

In Section D, D2 asks

Where did the applicant obtain entry clearance or a visa before travelling to the United Kingdom?

What do I specify?

Is it

1. 31 May 2007 - The first time a visa was issue to me. I do not think this is right as it was a Business Visa

2. 29 August 2008 - The Work Permit issued in Chennai, India. I am split between this and the next one (See, point 3)

3. 09 May 2009 at Sheffield UK - The first time my Tier 1 visa was issued to me.

Please enter the reference number on the entry clearance or visa which can be found in the applicant's travel passport or travel document.

Is it the number at the right top of the visa starting with UKXXXXXXX & digits after UK)?

For the first question, its asking about the last entry clearance you had before traveling to UK from abroad.

Second, its the number or top right corner in red on the EC
